ARCHIVED: In Outlook 2000, how do I change between Internet Mail Only mode and Corporate or Workgroup mode?

These instructions do not apply to Outlook 2002 and later, which do not use modes.

To check your mode, from the Outlook Help menu, select About Microsoft Outlook. Your mode is listed just below the version number.

You can change between Corporate or Workgroup mode and Internet Mail Only mode. To do so, follow these directions:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options....
  2. Under the Mail Services or Mail Delivery button or tab, click Reconfigure Mail Support.
  3. In the resulting window, beneath "Email Service Options", select the mail support option to which you are switching. Click Next.
  4. Read the warning message and then click Yes. Outlook will close.
  5. Restart Outlook. The Windows Installer will open and install the required files.
