ARCHIVED: What is the difference between QuickTime and QuickTime Pro?

The difference between Apple's free version of QuickTime and the paid version, QuickTime Pro, is one of functionality. In addition to eliminating an advertisement that appears when using the free version of QuickTime, QuickTime Pro allows you to author QuickTime content and save QuickTime movies downloaded from the web. After upgrading to QuickTime Pro for a fee, you will be given a registration number that you can enter into existing software to make the added features available.
