ARCHIVED: How can I uninstall McAfee VirusScan?
To uninstall McAfee VirusScan, first try the automatic uninstall
feature. From the Uninstall
file should be
in the same folder.
If that doesn't work, try the following steps:

- In Windows 7, from the menu, open the . In Category view, select . Under
"Programs and Features", click .
In Windows Vista, from the menu, open the . Double-click .
In Windows XP, from the menu, select , and then . Double-click .
- On the list of installed programs, select .
- Click
Note: If at any time you are prompted to remove shared files, answer
. or .
- Windows will attempt to remove McAfee VirusScan from your computer. If the operation is successful, you will need to restart your computer.
If you receive error messages or find that McAfee VirusScan was not completely removed, McAfee publishes an automated removal tool that may produce better results.
Note: Activate pre-installed McAfee products before uninstalling. Failure to activate before uninstalling may cause paid subscription information to be lost.
