ARCHIVED: About the click.e.iu.edu domain in Marketing Cloud email messages

This content has been archived, and is no longer maintained by Indiana University. Information here may no longer be accurate, and links may no longer be available or reliable.

If you are tracking email messages and you send a message containing a link, Marketing Cloud automatically "wraps" the link in a custom URL for tracking purposes. Most of these links include the click.e.iu.edu domain, which is the custom IU-registered domain for Marketing Cloud. The address will be different when you hover your mouse over that link in your browser.

If you're using the "View online" option in your email messages, that link will start with view.e.iu.edu/, another custom IU-registered domain for Marketing Cloud. It links back to a online version of your email.

Note:
If you're using the "View online" option but you don't have a preheader in your email, this URL can show up in the email client as unwanted code in the preheader. A preheader is the line of text that appears beneath the subject line in the message's inbox in support of the subject line and Call to Action (CTA). We recommend that you always use a preheader.
