Can't access some multi-player online games from IU campus housing

UITS has blocked communications on a number of network service ports on which programs seeking unauthorized access to the Indiana University network try to operate. This was done to protect the university from critical security vulnerabilities. The security controls minimize threats of interruption to IU network services from potentially dangerous programs; unfortunately, the controls also block many multi-player online games that use the same network service ports.

Because personal activities must always take second priority when there is a risk to university property, and because of the high risk to the university network, no individual exceptions will be made to this block.
