Jabber is an open source, XML-based protocol for instant messaging. To use Jabber, you must have a valid Jabber ID and be registered with a Jabber server. If you are running Mac OS X and are registered with a Jabber server, you can use iChat to access your Jabber account. However, you cannot create a Jabber account using iChat.
