Accessing county rasters quickly

To access one or more county rasters quickly:

  1. Select the layer's name in ArcMap's Table of Contents.
  2. From the right context menu, open the layer's "Properties" window.
  3. Select the Definition Query tab, and then click Query Builder.
  4. In the "Query Builder" window, select the "Name" field, and then double-click the field to add it to the query expression.
  5. Click Get Unique Values. Double-click the name of the desired county to add it to the expression. If you need multiple counties, make sure you separate the county names using the AND operator.
  6. Click OK to close the Query Builder. Your expression should look similar to this:
      [NAME] = 'BOONE' AND 'BARTHOLOMEW'
  7. Click Apply, and then click OK to close the "Properties" window. Only the raster dataset for the queried county or counties will display.
