Things to consider
- When you start the TSM client in Linux, Unix, or Mac OS X using TSM Tools for Administrators, the client runs with a UID of zero. This means that if the client creates folders during the restore process, they will be owned by root. To access the files after restoring, you must use
sudo chown
; for instructions, enterman chown
. - If you restore files with the
replace
option set tono
, existing files will not be overwritten, but existing directories will. To leave existing directories intact, click , then choose from the drop-down menu. - If you restore folders from a UFS or HFSX file system to an HFS file system, differences in case will be ignored, and two folders whose names differ only in case will be restored to one folder.
