When trying to install a license for ERDAS IMAGINE 9.3 or 2010, you might see this error message when you try to expand the License Sources view. An additional message may state several things, such as the following:

Error creating the view...

Loading Children....

To attempt to correct this error:

  1. Delete the ERDASNET_LICENSE_PATH file, located in the c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ERDAS\Shared\Licensing folder.
  2. Try to start your ERDAS software again.

If the error persists:

  1. Open the ERDAS-Net License Admin Tool. From the Start menu, select All Programs, then ERDAS 2010 or ERDAS, then ERDAS-Net Licensing 2010 or ERDAS-Net Licensing, and then License Administration.
  2. Remove the license sources:
    1. Expand the License Sources list.
    2. Highlight the source, select Server, and then click Remove License Source.
    3. If prompted or given the option, choose to delete the license file.
    4. Close the ERDAS-Net License Admin Tool.

  3. Open the FLEXlm Tools by double-clicking LMtools.exe in c:\Program Files\ERDAS\Shared\Licensing\Bin\NTx86.
  4. Delete the ERDAS-NET service, and then close the FLEXlm Tools.
  5. If there is an older 9.x license manager running, open the Windows Services; from the Start menu, select Control Panel, then Administrative Tools, and then Services. Stop the service named "ERDAS License Server".
  6. Delete the ERDASNET_LICENSE_PATH file, located in the c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ERDAS\Shared\Licensing folder.
  7. Retrieve the new license file, and double-click it to install.
