ARCHIVED: In the XSEDE User Portal, why am I having trouble posting an outage or news item from a Mac OS X computer?

If you're having trouble posting an Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) outage or news item from your Mac OS X computer, make sure you're using the Safari browser to access the XSEDE User Portal.

Mac OS X users trying to post news items via Firefox have reported that data entry and previewing work fine, but clicking Submit causes the screen to go blank without saving the new entry.

XSEDE User Portal developers are aware of the problem, and are working on a solution.
