Primary UITS contact: Kristy Kallback-Rose
Last update: April 11, 2014
Description: The second release of the IU File Storage (IUFS) service will be accessible from all major operating systems in use at Indiana University (Windows, OS X, and Linux), and will support the university's Cyber Risk Mitigation Responsibilities policy (IT-28) by providing a cost-effective common storage service. IUFS (Release 2) will complement the enterprise data storage system used by Intelligent Infrastructure, and is designed to support the block-level access required by the service levels for database access.
Outcome: A general-use file system that provides abundant storage for university data, including those classified as Public, University-internal, Restricted, and Critical, with a lower cost than Intelligent Infrastructure SAN-based storage
