At IU, where can I buy used computers and other equipment?

Indiana University Bloomington

  • Surplus Stores administers the resale of IUB computing equipment, along with other surplus merchandise.
    Note:
    Surplus Stores allows no returns, warranties, or refunds for any merchandise, including computers.
  • To find private individuals selling computer equipment, try the IU Classifieds; go to Classifieds in One.IU, and click Start.
  • The Indiana Daily Student (IDS) and Herald-Times also offer online classified ads.

IUPUI

  • IUPUI Surplus Property administers the resale of all computing items and other types of surplus merchandise to IU departments during weekly open house hours. IUPUI Surplus also holds public auctions several times per year; check their website for dates.
  • To find private individuals selling computer equipment, try the IU Classifieds; go to Classifieds in One.IU, and click Start.
  • The Indianapolis Star also offers online classified ads.

Regional campuses

  • Many regional campuses offer refurbished computers for sale through their campus bookstores. Check with your campus bookstore for availability and pricing.
