About PlayPosit

Overview

PlayPosit lets instructors create and edit interactive video assessments from streamed or uploaded content. Instructors can embed quiz-type questions into videos from Kaltura, YouTube, and other popular video platforms. PlayPosit integrates with Canvas and Kaltura, and instructors can use it to add interactive components such as polls, multiple choice questions, discussions, and branching scenarios. This added content can be synced with the Canvas Gradebook, and instructors can access analytics such as question-by-question breakdowns of learner performance, as well as average bulb score and completion status.

Add PlayPosit to Canvas

Add to a Canvas assignment

First, create the activity, or "bulb", in PlayPosit. For instructions, see Building a bulb in PlayPosit.

To create a graded assignment in PlayPosit, you'll need to create a Canvas assignment that uses an external tool as the submission type. To do so:

  2. From the course navigation menu, choose Assignments.
  3. To create a new assignment, select +Assignment.
  4. Name the assignment, and write a description or instructions if you wish.
  5. Under "Submission Type", select External Tool.
  6. Below "Enter or find an External Tool URL", to the right of the text field, choose Find.
  7. From the list of external tools, select PlayPosit.
  8. Choose SET LINK to access your bulb library.
  9. Find the bulb you want to link to this assignment, and choose the Canvas icon.
  10. Select the learner experience and choose Set Link.
  11. When you are redirected to Canvas, in the pop-up menu, choose Select.
  12. To save your changes, choose Update Assignment.

For more details and screenshots, see Assign a graded Bulb to students.

You can assign a non-graded bulb to students or add a bulb directly to a Canvas page, discussion, or module. Note that no grades will be assigned in Canvas for these activities; however, data analytics will still be recorded and visible to the instructor on the PlayPosit assignment's Question-by-Question Breakdown dashboard.
