Deliver Pearson Exams in the IU Indianapolis Testing Center

Overview
You can use Pearson textbook question banks with the Canvas Quizzes tool by following these instructions to export test questions from Pearson and import them into Canvas. Doing so enables the full range of Canvas Quizzes features and security, such as IP address filtering and support for Respondus LockDown Browser.
Creating and exporting test banks requires the use of Pearson's TestGen Desktop software, available for Windows and macOS from Pearson, TestGen® Test Generator & Testbank Editor.
Export a TestGen test for Canvas
- In the TestGen test window, under "Create New", choose .
- In the window that opens, select and then . Select .
- Create your test by selecting items from the testbank.
- Save your test.
- From the menu, choose . Select , and select .
- In the next window, enter a name for the question pool, and then save the
.zip
file. - Upload the
.zip
file into Canvas following Canvas Guides instructions.
Import your test into Canvas
- Log into Canvas, navigate to your course, and from the left navigation menu, select .
- From the right, select .
- Select
.zip
file you exported. Select .You will receive email notification when the import process is complete.
and browse to find the - Navigate to the Quizzes area in your course. This process will create an unpublished quiz and a question bank. Delete this quiz, since it contains all of the questions. Then use the question bank to create your own quiz.
