ARCHIVED: At IU, how do I reset my passphrase using the Self-Service Passphrase Reset system?

Note: You must have previously enrolled in the system, and established your identifying questions and answers there, to reset your passphrase in this manner. For information about enrolling in the system, see Enroll in Passphrase Reset or change your security questions
To reset your passphrase using the Self-Service Passphrase Reset system:
- Go to the Passphrase Maintenance page at:
https://passphrase.iu.edu/
- Under the heading "What if I forgot my passphrase?", at the end
of the first sentence, click
Note: You will need to know your 10-digit University ID number to carry out the passphrase reset; see the Self-Service Passphrase Reset Information page or About your IU University ID

Note: Once you click Support Center for assistance.
, you will have a limited amount of time to successfully complete the process. If you do not complete it in that time, you will be locked out and unable to resume the Self-Service reset process. If this happens, contact your campus to begin the reset process.
- Enter your last name, date of birth, and University ID number in the appropriate fields. Enter the code provided in the last field. Click .
- For each question, enter the answer you provided when you enrolled in the system; be careful to spell your responses correctly. Click .
- When you have successfully answered the questions, you will be able to choose a new passphrase; follow the guidelines on the page, or see Your IU passphrase. Enter and re-enter your passphrase in the fields provided, and then click .
- Click to close the window and exit the Self-Service Passphrase Reset.
