At IU, how do I configure my computer to use DHCP (obtain IP address and DNS server automatically)?

To properly communicate on Indiana University networks, personal computers need to be configured to use DHCP. Unless the Support Center or your IT Pro advises otherwise, use the following instructions to configure your computer.

Windows

To ensure that your Windows computer is set to use DHCP, select the Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically options:

Mac

To ensure that your Mac OS X computer is set to use DHCP, select Using DHCP:
