When you're using Microsoft Outlook 2003 for Windows to access your Exchange account, you can manipulate the "Logon network security" setting for different levels of security.

Note: For workstations that have a default login account or a user that accesses multiple accounts, you should set the "Logon network security" setting to None for the appropriate accounts.

To change the "Logon network security" setting:

  1. From the Start menu, select either Control Panel, or Settings and then Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Mail icon, and then click Email Accounts....
  3. Under "Email", select View or change existing email accounts. Click Next.
  4. Select Microsoft Exchange Server and click Change....
  5. Click More Settings.... In the resulting dialog box, click the Security tab.
  6. In the "User Identification" area, select Always prompt for user name and password if it is not already selected. (It is checked by default.)
  7. Under "Logon Network Security", Kerberos/NTLM Password Authentication should be selected. Click Apply, then OK, then Next, and then Finish.
