If you get the "User/host not on Include list for feature" error message when launching ArcGIS Desktop at IU

Esri has announced that ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap and its associated suite of tools, including ArcGlobe, etc.) will no longer be available through the Education Site License beginning July 1, 2024. This means that all current ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) users will need to transition to ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online by June 30, 2024. For further details, see ArcMap Retirement in Education Programs.

At Indiana University, you may get the "User/host not on Include list for feature" error message if you try to open an ArcGIS Desktop application without having the privileges required to check out license features from the UITS-managed Esri Central License Service.

To correct this, make sure your computer is configured correctly to use the Central License Service. If your settings are correct, but you are still receiving this error, contact UITS Research Data Services (RDS) for help.
