ARCHIVED: Using Oncourse Syllabus, how do I add, edit, or delete a Syllabus item?
The Syllabus tool is available from your site's menubar. If you don't see the Syllabus tool, the site owner may have chosen not to use it. Site owners can add the Syllabus tool using Site Setup; see ARCHIVED: Adding, removing, hiding, or reordering tools.

Adding a Syllabus item
To add a Syllabus item:
- In the menubar, click .
- Click , and then click .
- Enter a title for your Syllabus item, and then enter your
content. You can copy and paste text from another file (e.g., an
HTML file or a Word document).
Note: Pasting text into the rich-text editor should preserve most formatting, but some types of formatting may need to be added manually in the editor after pasting. You can also use the ARCHIVED: Pasting from Microsoft Word. icon to paste from a Microsoft Word document, although this may not preserve every type of formatting. For details, see
- Choose whether to have the item viewable only by members of the site or by anyone ( ).
- Under "Attachments", you can attach a file from your local computer or from Resources, or specify the URL for a file on the web. See ARCHIVED: Options for adding attachments.
- Choose whether to have members of the site notified automatically via email when the item is posted.
- When you are finished, click to post the item, to view it, to save it as a draft, or to cancel.
Editing a Syllabus item
To edit a Syllabus item:
- In the menubar, click .
- Click , and then click the name of the item you wish to edit.
- Make your changes, and then click to post the item to your site, to view it, to save it as a draft, or to cancel.
Deleting a Syllabus item
To delete a Syllabus item:
- In the menubar, click .
- Click .
- To the right of the item you wish to remove, check the box under .
- Click , and then click to confirm.
