Web browsers to use with IU services

Internet Explorer, Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari should work with most Indiana University services. If you experience difficulties with a web-based service, try a different browser or clear your cache and cookies. Be sure to always use the latest browser version to ensure the best security.

  • On January 12, 2016, Microsoft ended support for Internet Explorer versions prior to version 11. UITS strongly recommends that you upgrade to a new operating system if your current system does not support Internet Explorer 11. If you experience difficulty with Internet Explorer, make sure compatibility mode is turned off.
  • As of August 3, 2019, Canvas no longer supports Internet Explorer 11. You still can use Internet Explorer 11 to access Canvas, but some Canvas features may not function properly. For best results, use another browser; see Which browsers does Canvas support?
