ARCHIVED: On Queen Bee (LONI), what is the default shell and how do I change my shell?

The default shell (i.e., login shell) on Queen Bee (LONI) is bash.

To change your default shell on Queen Bee, use the LONI allocations web site:

  1. Log in with your Queen Bee username and password. If you don't know your Queen Bee password, reset it using the instructions in ARCHIVED: How do I create a password for accessing Queen Bee via SSH?
  2. In the menu on the right, click Profile.
  3. Near the bottom of your Profile page, next to "Login Shell", use the drop-down list to select another shell.
  4. To save your change, click Update.
