About the note-taking template for students and faculty

The note-taking template is based on the Cornell Note-taking System. Students can access it directly, while faculty can add the template as a resource to their Canvas course navigation menu.

  • Students: To access the template, use one of these options:

    When you access the template, you will first be prompted to make a copy of it. Be sure to then title and save the copy with a descriptive name. For example, if you want to use this single copy for all subsequent class meetings, you might give it the same title as your course; or, if you’d like a clean copy to take notes each time the course meets, title it with the name and date of the specific course meeting.
  • Faculty: Add the template to your Canvas course navigation menu by using the Canvas Redirect tool, entering the following in the "URL Redirect" field:
