Why UITS doesn't support IMAP
The Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP), specified in 1988, enables remote users to view and manage messages, but does not allow for rich mailbox support such as calendaring, tasks, contacts, and resource rooms.
Some implementations of IMAP clients have also recently been updated to support Modern Auth and two Factor Authentication (Secure IMAP), but the protocol support for these changes is not universal.
Per Microsoft's recommendation, Indiana University does not have IMAP support enabled for Exchange Online.
