Get started

You will need a MindView account before continuing. At Indiana University, access to MindView is granted by your campus ADA services office. Contact the ADA services office on your campus to learn about arranging a course accommodation for your needs.

Install MindView Desktop

1. Go to MindView online.
2. Select the Google service option.
3. Put in your IU email address (ending in @iu.edu) and then select Next.
   Note:

   After you log into your MindView online account for the first time, you will have the option to select your IU email address, and won't have to do steps 3 and 4.
4. Select Google Workspace account.
5. Log in with your IU username and password.
6. Once you are logged into MindView online, select the left arrow icon in the left navigation bar.
7. You should now be in the MindView online main interface.
8. In the upper right corner, select your name and then My Account from the menu that appears.
9. On the MindView account page, select Applications.
10. Select the Download button for MindView for Windows.
11. The installer will begin downloading onto your computer, and the file name should be mindviewX_XXXXXX.exe.
12. When the download is complete, go to your Downloads folder, select the MindView file, and press Enter to start the installation.
13. A "User Account Control" window will appear asking for permission to run the installer:
    • If there are only Yes or No buttons, select Yes.
    • If there is an option to put in a username and password, put in the username and password of an administrator account on your computer, and then press Enter.
14. The "MindView X.X Setup" window will now appear:
    1. First screen: Choose setup language (English is default), and then select Next.
    2. Second screen: There is a "Send anonymous usage statistics" checkbox here. If you don't want usage data sent to the software maker, uncheck the box. Once you are done, select Next.
    3. End-User License Agreement: Read the agreement, select the "I accept the terms in the License Agreement" radial option, and then select Next.
    4. Select Installation Folder: Leave this as the default, and select Next.
    5. Ready to Install: Select the Install button.
    6. The installer will run, and you may see various windows appear during the installation.
    7. Once the installation is complete, select the Finish button.
15. MindView Desktop is now installed on your computer.

Log into MindView

1. Launch MindView on your computer.
2. At the "Welcome to MindView" screen select the Log in button.
3. On the login screen, select the Google service option.
4. Put in your IU email address (ending in @iu.edu), and then select Next.
5. Select Google Workspace account.
6. Log in with your IU username and password.
7. A "Stay logged in?" window will appear.
   1. Select the "Do not show again" checkbox if you don't want to be asked again about staying logged in to MindView.
   2. Choose the Yes or No button.
8. A notification will pop-up indicating this is an educational license. Select OK.
9. You can now start using MindView.
