Get started

You will need a MindView account before continuing. At Indiana University, access to MindView is granted by your campus ADA services office. Contact the ADA services office on your campus to learn about arranging a course accommodation for your needs.

Install MindView Desktop

1. Go to MindView online.
2. Select the Google service option.
3. Put in your IU email address (ending in @iu.edu) and then select Next.
   Note:

   After you log into your MindView online account for the first time, you will have the option to select your IU email address, and won't have to do steps 3 and 4.
4. Select Google Workspace account.
5. Log in with your IU username and password.
6. Once you are logged into MindView online, select the left arrow icon in the left navigation bar.
7. You should now be in the MindView online main interface.
8. In the upper right corner, select your name and then My Account from the menu that appears.
9. On the MindView account page, select Applications.
10. Select the Download button for MindView for macOS.
11. The installer will begin downloading onto your computer, and the file name should be mindviewX_mac_XXXX.dmg.
12. When the download is complete, go to your Downloads folder, select the mindview file, and press Enter to start the installation.
13. In the "MindView Install" window, open the MindView icon to start the installer.
14. The "Install MindView" window will now appear:
    1. Introduction: Select Continue.
    2. License: Read the Software License Agreement, and then select Continue. When prompted, select the Agree button.
    3. Installation Type: Leave the default, and then select Install.
       • If prompted for permissions, put in the username and password of an admin account on the computer, and then select Install Software.
    4. The installer will run for the installation.
    5. Once the installation is complete, select the Close button.
       • You may get a prompt asking if you want to move the installer to the Trash. If you don't want to keep the installer, select Move to Trash. Otherwise, select Keep.
15. MindView Desktop is now installed on your computer.

Log into MindView

1. Launch MindView on your computer.
2. On the MindView account login screen, select Google service.
3. Put in your IU email address (ending in @iu.edu), and then select Next.
4. Select Google Workspace account.
5. Log in with your IU username and password.
6. A "Stay logged in?" window will appear.
   1. Select the "Do not show again" checkbox if you don't want to be asked again about staying logged in to MindView.
   2. Choose the Yes or No button.
7. A notification will pop up indicating this is an educational license. Select OK.
8. The "New Document" window will appear and you can choose to create a new mind map, open an template, import, etc.
9. You can now start using MindView.
