In some student self-service links in One.IU, why do I get an error message that I am not authorized to access the site, component, or page?

One.IU student self-service tasks (e.g., Student Center, Set Up 3rd Party Users, Class Registration) use cookies to keep track of your current transactions. For security, your web browser is assigned an access level when you first access self-service, and you will be allowed only that level of access for that browsing session. For example, if you use 3rd Party User Access, you'll be given a public role and thus won't be able to access some student or faculty tasks. You may receive one of the following errors:

You are not authorized to access this component.

You are not authorized for this page.

To correct this, clear your browser's cache and cookies, and then exit all open web browser windows and restart your browser.
