Note:

Due to enhanced security features in Exchange Online, digital signatures are no longer required at IU; however, digital signatures will continue to work as expected if you wish to continue using them.

At Indiana University, in order to send ARCHIVED: digitally signed email, a mail account (including personal or group/service accounts) will need to get an S/MIME client certificate. You can also use the same certificate to ARCHIVED: send and receive encrypted mail within the IU Exchange system.

Your S/MIME client certificate will work only with the email address you supply when creating the certificate; if your email address changes, you must get a new certificate.
