Get an S/MIME certificate for digital email signatures at IU

At Indiana University, in order to send digitally signed email, a mail account (including personal or group/service accounts) will need to get an S/MIME certificate. You can also use the same certificate to send and receive encrypted mail within the IU Exchange system.

Your S/MIME certificate will work only with the email address you supply when creating the certificate; if your email address changes, you must get a new certificate.

To create an S/MIME certificate for use at IU, follow the instructions below. To view all the content available to you here, be sure you are logged into the Knowledge Base; use the green Log in button at the top of this page.
