ARCHIVED: Opt out of the IU spam quarantine service

Overview
At Indiana University, email accounts on Exchange are automatically included in the spam quarantine service, which deletes mail quarantined for five days. See ARCHIVED: About the IU spam quarantine service.
If you're going away on vacation or cannot monitor your email account for five days, or if you'd rather not participate in the spam quarantine service at all, you can opt out of the service to prevent the system from deleting messages from your quarantine folder.
Opt out
To opt out, you must log into Outlook Web App (OWA) and turn off Junk E-mail filtering. The appropriate instructions depend on whether you're using the Premium or Light interface for OWA:
- If using the Premium interface, in the upper right corner, click the gear icon and then choose . Then, on the left side, click , and select (to re-enable filtering, select ). Click in the bottom right to save your changes.
- If using the Light interface, in the upper right corner, click . Then, on the left side, click , and select (to re-enable filtering, select ). Click in the upper left to save your changes.

E-mail
folder for longer than five days. Also, any addresses that are in your blocked list will still be moved to the Junk E-mail
folder.
