About Google Meet at IU

Google Meet lets Google at IU users collaborate in multi-person video calls. Google Meet supports a variety of devices and web browsers to facilitate collaboration and document sharing, and provides interoperability between multiple Google applications.


These Google Meet features will be temporarily available (until September 30, 2020):

  • Host up to 250 participants per call
  • Live stream your call to 100,000 maximum viewers; viewers must have a Google at IU account
  • Record and then store your meetings within Google at IU My Drive

Key features

  • Host meetings with up to 250 participants, with no time limits
  • Screen-sharing and integrated chat
  • No plug-ins are required
  • Mobile apps are available for Android and iOS
  • You can meet with people outside IU (Google accounts are not required for external participants)
  • Meetings can be recorded and are saved in the Meet Recordings folder in Google My Drive
