On IU research computing systems, how do I change my login shell or passphrase?

Changing your login shell

The default login shell on Indiana University's research computing systems is bash.

Big Red II, Carbonate, or Karst

To change your shell on Big Red II, Carbonate, or Karst, send a request to the High Performance Systems (HPS) group indicating the shell you'd prefer to use.

Changing your passphrase

All IU research computing systems use the IU Active Directory service to authenticate users (i.e., you log in using your IU Network ID username and passphrase):
