Why can't I make an IU Secure or VPN connection through an IU group or departmental account?

In order to ensure accountability of network communication, the University Information Policy Office prohibits group accounts from making VPN or IU Secure connections. When you need to connect via VPN from off campus, use your own computing account.

Note:
For off-campus connections to the IU network, use the recommended SSL VPN (if your campus supports it). The IPsec VPN at IU Bloomington and IUPUI will eventually be retired.

IU Secure is the wireless network for students, faculty, and staff to access on all campuses. IU Secure uses WPA2 Enterprise (Wi-Fi Protected Access) for authentication and encryption.
