Differences between development and production projects in IU REDCap

In IU REDCap, your new project has "Development" status while you're building and testing it. When you're ready to enter real data, you change the project status to "Production" from the "Control Panel" page (accessed via the menu on the left). When you're finished collecting data, or if you wish to stop collection, you can set the status to "Inactive". You can change the status back to "Production" whenever you're ready to resume data collection.

Changes you make to a project with "Development" status take effect immediately. Once your project's status has changed to "Production", you can no longer edit its database fields in real time. To modify a project with "Production" status, you must enter Draft Mode to make your changes, and then pass them for approval to a REDCap administrator. For more, see Make changes to an IU REDCap project that is currently in production.
