Create custom welcome and farewell messages on IU List

Important:
Indiana University will be transitioning to a single email domain, iu.edu, between now and the end of 2025. For more about the transition, see One Mail. Note:
Only list owners can perform the actions described below.
  1. Log into the campus IU List website for your list:

  2. Select My lists, and choose the name of a list.

  3. In the left menu, click Admin.
  4. From the Edit List Config menu, click Message templates.
  5. To edit the message sent to new subscribers, under "Automatic messages", click Edit next to "Welcome message".

    To edit the message sent when subscribers leave the list, under "More", click Edit next to "Unsubscribe message".

  6. In the text box, edit the default message text. When you're done, at the bottom of the page, click Save.
