Connect from an IU conference unit to a third-party Zoom meeting without CRC

Indiana University's contract with Zoom includes a feature called Conference Room Connector (CRC), which allows on-campus conference units (SIP or H.323 devices) to connect to IU Zoom Meetings. When connecting to a Zoom meeting outside IU's contract (for example, one hosted by a vendor or another university), the meeting host may not have paid for this service. In that case, IU's on-campus conference units will receive a CRC error message when attempting to connect to the conference.

Note:
Before you follow the instructions below, consider simply joining the meeting from a computer or mobile device, or hosting the meeting with your own IU Zoom account.

If you encounter a CRC error message and you cannot host the meeting yourself or join the meeting from a computer or mobile device, use the following steps to connect an IU conference unit to a non-IU, non-CRC Zoom meeting:

  1. Dial 26 from the conference room or videoconference unit.
  2. Note the "Pairing Code" at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Enter the meeting ID you wish to join.
  4. On a computer or mobile device, open a web browser and go to iu.zoom.us/meeting/rooms.
  5. Enter the pairing code from step 2, and the meeting ID from step 3. The conference unit should now join the meeting.

If you're prompted for a meeting password or host key, please contact the meeting organizer.
