Important:

UITS Collaboration Technologies retired the "23" video bridge (Pexip) on December 23, 2019. This includes all conferences that begin with the prefix 23- as well as the bridge.iu.edu and uits.iu.edu/bridge sites. Zoom has replaced the Pexip videoconferencing service; for more about moving your virtual meetings to Zoom, see Get started with Zoom.

While it is not possible to migrate a 23- conference number to the Zoom service, you can customize your Zoom Personal Meeting ID; for more, see What is Personal Meeting ID (PMI) and Personal Link?

The Pexip mobile app, available for iOS and Android devices, is a client you can use to connect to IU Video Bridge conferences. The app provides a consistent interface from which you can join meetings via video or audio, control the conference, and view presentations, all from your own personal device.

Download the mobile app

To download the Pexip mobile app, search for Pexip in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Join a conference

  1. In the "Enter conference alias or URI" field, enter your conference number followed by <number>@vc.iu.edu, for example, 231234@vc.iu.edu.

Every "23" video bridge conference has two aliases: a conference number, and a conference name. To connect to your conference, enter either 23<4-to-7-digit-number> or meet.name.

  2. Select Join.
  3. You may be prompted to select your role. If you know the host PIN, select Host and enter the PIN. Otherwise, select Guest.

Mobile app features

IU supports the following Pexip mobile app features:

  • View a list of participants connected to your 23 conference
  • View the shared computer presentation (for example, Microsoft PowerPoint slides shared by a presenter, not video of other meeting participants)
  • Hosts only: Mute or disconnect meeting participants

Mobile app controls

The "Participants on stage" section indicates which participants have spoken recently, with the most recent speaker on the left.

The "Participants" section displays a list of all active conference participants.

Host privileges

Touch any name in the participant list to:

  • Enable/disable audio from participant: Turn a participant's audio on or off.
  • Disconnect a participant: Remove the participant from the conference.
