Overview

Online Course Questionnaire (OCQ), sometimes called Course Questionnaire or Online Course Evaluation, is available for online course evaluations at all Indiana University campuses and schools except the IU School of Medicine.

Following are instructions for monitoring student participation rates and accessing evaluation reports. For more, view a video demonstration.

Note:
Microsoft Edge has known incompatibilities with the Course Questionnaire application. UITS recommends using a different browser (for example, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari). For more, see Web browsers to use with IU services.

Monitor participation rates

  1. Before a questionnaire becomes available to students, you will receive a link to your online course evaluations via email. You can also access them at coursequestionnaire.iu.edu.
  2. Log in with your IU username and passphrase.
  3. Near the bottom of the management portal dashboard, you will see a list of your courses that are currently being evaluated online. Click the title of a course to view your current response rates.
  4. This will open a course window, where you'll see information about the course, including the dates it is being evaluated, the number of students invited to participate, the number of students that completed the questionnaire, and the response rate.

Access online course evaluation reports

  1. To access your reports, do one of the following:
    • Click the link to the reports in the email notification you receive when your reports are available at the end of each term.
    • Visit coursequestionnaire.iu.edu.
    • Go to One.IU and search for Online Course Questionnaires. If you see more than one task, select the appropriate one for your campus.
  2. From the Data Source drop-down, select the date range that corresponds to the reports you want to view.
  3. If prompted, log in with your IU username and passphrase.

  4. Under "Reports", on the right, toggle Show child reports to the on position (the switch should appear blue).
  5. Search for reports by term or instructor:
    • By term:
      1. In the "Reports" section, switch the drop-down to the right of the search box from All to Subcategory, which filters specifically by term.
      2. In the search bar, type the term (for example, Fall 2018).
    • By instructor, class section, number, or name:
      1. In the "Reports" section, switch the drop-down to the right of the search box from All to Report Title.
      2. In the search bar, type the instructor's last name, the class section number, etc.
  6. To view the results for a given class, click the link for that class from within the search results.
