ARCHIVED: Known issues with Adobe Connect at IU

Note:

Adobe Connect, IU's previous web collaboration and conferencing system, became read-only on August 31, 2017, and will be fully retired on December 28, 2017. After a comprehensive pilot evaluation, Zoom has been selected as its replacement. For more, see About the Adobe Connect retirement.

UITS is currently converting all Adobe Connect recordings to MP4 format. For more, see How do I access and download my converted Adobe Connect recordings?

Following are known issues, problems, and incompatibilities affecting Adobe Connect:

Unable to launch Adobe Connect meetings in Linux with any browser
Individuals using Linux with the most recent Flash Player update (LNX 24.0.0.221) are unable to launch Adobe Connect meetings. Users see the Adobe Connect loading screen and progress bar, but are unable to enter the meeting.

Windows 8.1 screen share freezes intermittently
When a Host/Presenter shares his or her entire desktop from a Windows 8.1 computer, after a period of time, the screen share may freeze for the remote meeting attendees. If the Host/Presenter stops sharing and starts sharing again, meeting attendees will see a black share window. When the screen share is frozen, the rest of the Connect meeting (audio, video, text chat) will continue working.
The Host/Presenter must leave the Connect meeting, rejoin the meeting, and initiate the screen share again.

Audio missing from Connect meeting recording
The audio in a Connect recording may stop broadcasting during playback of the recording. In such cases, the audio worked normally during the live meeting, but during playback of the recording, the audio cuts out, always at the same point.
Contact UITS Collaboration Technologies (cthelp@iu.edu, 812-856-2020) who will attempt to repair the recording and restore the audio.

Cannot install the Adobe Connect Add-in using Safari on Mac
When you attempt to install or use the Adobe Connect Add-in using Safari on a Mac, you see the message "You don't have the Adobe Connect domain name in the Safari Flash Player security settings."
Follow the instructions in Flash Player Help: Remove sandbox restrictions (Safari player) from Adobe Help.
