Note:

Adobe Connect, IU's previous web collaboration and conferencing system, became read-only on August 31, 2017, and was fully retired on December 28, 2017. After a comprehensive pilot evaluation, Zoom was selected as its replacement.

UITS converted Adobe Connect recordings to MP4 format, but Adobe Presenter files were not automatically converted. UITS offers a content migration service for faculty who need assistance moving Presenter content to other platforms. To take advantage of this service, complete the Adobe Presenter Migration Support form.

On May 9, 2015, IU's Adobe Connect service was upgraded from server software version 9.2.2 to version 9.3/4. While Adobe Connect 9.4 contains mostly bug fixes, Connect 9.3 offers significant improvements, including:

  • Screen sharing enhancements that make it easier for presenters to engage with participants and exercise key meeting functions, while doing screen sharing:
    • The screen sharing option dialog has been redesigned to provide a visual preview of the windows and applications available to share.
    • Once you start screen sharing, the meeting room will give way to a new screen share mini control panel. This panel provides tools that the presenter can use to control the meeting without having to end screen sharing or go back to the meeting room.

For more on the new screen sharing features, see What's New in Adobe Connect 9.3? Screen Sharing (YouTube video by InteSolv).

  • New whiteboard capabilities include improvements to fidelity of drawing, granting drawing rights to participants, and exporting drawings.

For more on the new whiteboarding capabilities, see What's New in Adobe Connect 9.3? Whiteboard Tools (YouTube video by InteSolv).

  • Chat sounds give all users the option to hear a sound when a new chat is received in a Chat pod.
