Create a MySQL for Sitehost account or reset a root user password

Create the account

Important:
Before creating a MySQL account on Sitehost, you must first create a group account and a Sitehost account. See About IU computing accounts for groups or departments and About Sitehost accounts.
  1. Go to Enterprise Web Technical Services and select the Manage your Sitehost account button.
  2. Find the account you want to add MySQL services to and select Manage.
  3. Read through the user agreement and agree to the terms.
  4. Your MySQL and MySQL-test accounts will then be created. Record the server names, root username, and passwords in a secured area, treating them as you would an IU passphrase.

Reset the root user password

  1. Go to Enterprise Web Technical Services and select the Manage your Sitehost account button.
  2. Find the account you want to reset the MySQL root user password for and select Manage.
  3. Select Reset root password in the MySQL tile.
  4. Choose which MySQL account you wish to reset (test or production) and select the appropriate Reset root password button.
  5. Read the confirmation warning carefully before proceeding further. Resetting a root user password cannot be undone.
  6. If you understand the warning, select the Continue button.
  7. Record the root account user and root password, and store this information in a secure location as you would an IU passphrase.
