Create a MySQL for Sitehost account or reset a root user password
Create the account
Important:
Before creating a MySQL account on Sitehost, you must first create a group account and a Sitehost account. See About IU computing accounts for groups or departments and About Sitehost accounts.
- Go to Enterprise Web Technical Services and click the button. If prompted, log in with your IU username and passphrase.
- Find the account you want to add MySQL services to and click .
- Read through the user agreement and agree to the terms.
- Your MySQL and MySQL-test accounts will then be created. Record the server names, root username, and passwords in a secured area, treating them as you would an IU passphrase.
Reset the root user password
- Go to Enterprise Web Technical Services and click the button.
- If prompted, log in with your IU username and passphrase.
- Find the account you want to reset the MySQL root user password for and click .
- Click in the MySQL tile.
- Choose which MySQL account you wish to reset (test or production) and click the appropriate button.
- Read the confirmation warning carefully before proceeding further. Resetting a root user password cannot be undone.
- If you understand the warning, click the button.
- Record the root account user and root password, and store this information in a secure location as you would an IU passphrase.
