ARCHIVED: Use IMAP at IU

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a protocol for retrieving email messages and working with mailboxes on a mail server using an email client. Simple Mail Transfer Protocol is a corresponding protocol used to send outgoing mail to an IMAP server.
To get instructions for configuring email clients with IMAP at IU, follow the link for the email system you use:
- ARCHIVED: Imail or Umail
Important:Umail is only for former students who do not have an active status (for example, faculty, staff) and who separated from IU prior to March 11, 2018; see ARCHIVED: About the Umail upgrade. Current students use ARCHIVED: Gmail at IU. If you're unsure about what type of account you have, contact your campus Support Center.
