ARCHIVED: Get a MySQL database account on the IU RDC

This content has been archived, and is no longer maintained by Indiana University. Information here may no longer be accurate, and links may no longer be available or reliable.
Note:

The Indiana University Research Database Complex (RDC) supports research-related MySQL and PostgreSQL databases and data-intensive applications that require databases. The RDC is strictly devoted to supporting research, and is not an instructional, classroom environment.

To get a MySQL database account on the RDC:

  1. UITS recommends using a group account as the owner of your RDC database(s). For instructions, see About IU computing accounts for groups or departments. If you choose to use a personal account, you will not be able to share or transfer database ownership.
  2. Once your RDC account is created, use the RDC Database Account Application to request a MySQL database.

You will be notified by email when your database has been created. For instructions on how to access it, see Access your MySQL database at IU RDC.
