Note:
To complete these procedures, you must be assigned a role having the necessary permissions. If you're not sure what your role is, see the "Role" column in the Roster tool. For permissions, see ARCHIVED: What can I do in read-only Oncourse?

This function allows you to add a block of text to your page (e.g., to introduce other pieces of content on the page). You can also use it to add other web content, such as tables or links. However, it is often more convenient to add links to the page as resources; see ARCHIVED: Adding resources to a page in Lessons (beta).

Adding text

At the top of the page, click Add Text. Enter your text in the rich-text editor provided, and click Save at the bottom of the page.

To show your text only to one or more groups or sections in the site, click Edit the groups for which this item should be shown below the rich-text editor. Check the groups you wish to allow access to, and then click Save. The checkboxes will appear only if your site contains sections or groups; see ARCHIVED: Managing groups.

Editing text

To edit text you've already added to the page, to the left of the text item, click Edit. When you're finished, at the bottom of the page, click Save.

Removing text

To remove a piece of text, to the left of the text item, click Edit. Then click Delete below the text editor.

Warning: Clicking Delete will permanently remove the text item from your page, with no confirmation step, and you cannot retrieve it once it has been deleted.
