If the Skype for Business app is running on your computer, the phone may not respond when using the dial pad, when the handset is replaced, or when choosing the End Call screen option.

Loud or persistent dial tone after Skype for Business call or meeting is completed.
Interaction between Teams and Skype for Business may cause Skype for Business users to hear a persistent dial tone or off-hook sound even after their call or meeting is completed. Microsoft is working on a Teams update which will likely solve this problem.
Exit and then restart Skype for Business and/or the Teams app, or restart the computer. This issue should no longer occur when all call or meeting participants are converted to Teams Calls.

No dial tone and difficulties with call control on CX300 USB phones with Teams Calls on Windows
Users on Teams Calls with newer Dell Latitude laptops and CX300 phones may experience the following:
  • No dial tone
  • Dial pad on the CX300 phone does not work
  • Answering and ending calls with the phone does not work (these must be done from the Teams app)
To restore call control, disable the Intel Smart Sound Technology driver:
  1. Run Windows updates.
  2. In the Device manager, choose Sound, video and game controllers.
  3. Right-click Intell Smart Sound Technology/Intel SST, and choose Disable device.
  4. Unplug the phone, and restart the computer.
  5. Plug the phone back in.
Note:
For some steps, admin permissions may be necessary.

This will allow you to use the Dial pad (dialing will start after a 4-5 second delay) and Speakerphone button, and to answer and end the call with the handset; however, you'll still hear no dial tone.

An alternative USB phone (Yealink MP50) is available; see About office telephone equipment at IU.
