Note: These instructions assume that you have filled out and submitted the Request a Classroom Lecture Recording form and an Echo360 recording has been scheduled.

At Indiana University, most general-purpose classrooms have Echo360 Classroom Capture software installed. To record a class in one of these classrooms:

  1. Log into the Windows computer at the start of your class; the capture will not begin until you log in.
  2. Use a microphone. In some classrooms, the microphone is mounted on top of the computer monitor or hanging from the ceiling; in other rooms, you'll need to use the wireless microphone, located in the technology lectern or the AV rack.

If you want questions from the classroom to be included in the recording, you may need to repeat them using the instructor's microphone. If a student approaches you to ask you a private question, turn the microphone off, as it can pick up the voices of people standing close to the instructor.

  3. The capture will end when you log out of the computer or at the class end time (as specified on your request form), whichever comes first. If you log out before your class ends, Echo360 will stop recording.
