ARCHIVED: How do I download, install, and use the IU Printer Finder?

Windows
Note: The IU Printer Finder utility for Windows will work only with Windows 8.x, 7, and Vista computers at IUB and IUPUI.
Downloading and installing
- Visit IUware. Log in if needed, and then click .
- To install the utility, click . Alternatively, to download the files to install at a later time, click .
If you saved the files for a later installation, or if the utility doesn't automatically install:
- In Windows 8.x, press Win-
e
. In the left column of the resulting window, right-click or . In Windows 7 and earlier, from the menu, right-click . - Double-click .
- Double-click the folder, and then double-click the folder.
- To install the utility, double-click .
Using the Printer Finder
To launch the Printer Finder, double-click its desktop icon. Alternatively, from the Start screen or
menu, select or , then , and then .To configure your computer to print to an IU Print printer:
- Select the tab.
- Under "Campus", select your campus.
- Under "Available Printers", select the desired printer, and then click . The printer will now be available in the program from which you want to print.
- Check Saving your credentials, below. to have Windows connect to the printer automatically when your computer is on the IU network. For more about this option, see
To configure your computer to print to a non-IU Print printer:
- Select the tab.
- Under "Campus", select your campus.
- Under "Building:", select your building.
- Under "Available Printers", select the desired printer, and then click . The printer will now be available in the program from which you want to print.

Saving your credentials
Check
to have Windows connect to your printer automatically when your computer is on the IU network.If you choose to save your credentials, you should not have to re-run the Printer Finder to reconnect to your printer. If you choose not to save your credentials, you'll need to run the Printer Finder again if you want to reconnect to your printer at a later time.
The Printer Finder stores your credentials in Windows' secure Credential Manager. If your credentials change, you'll need to run the Printer Finder again to update them. Alternatively, you can update your credentials directly in the Windows Credential Manager.
If you run the Printer Finder from a domain account, you will not see the option to store your credentials. Domain users can reconnect to network printers without storing their credentials locally.
Mac OS X
Note: To use IU Print printers, your OS X account username must be identical to your IU Network ID username.
