About streaming and mobile TV for campus housing residents at IUB, IUPUI, and IUSB

Overview

Students in campus housing at IU Bloomington, IUPUI, and IU South Bend have access to over 120 channels of high definition content via internet streaming or mobile applications provided by Xfinity On Campus™. Content includes major broadcast TV, as well as sports and entertainment networks, including HBO.

At IUB, IUPUI, IUSB, and IUS, students also have access to recently released movies via ResLife Cinema.

How to watch

For details about getting started, connection instructions, and for help, refer to the support for Xfinity On Campus™.

To connect to Xfinity on Campus:

  1. Navigate to tv.xfinity.com.
  2. Click SIGN IN (top right).
  3. Near the bottom, next to "Xfinity On Campus students", click Sign in here.
  4. Select Indiana University.
  5. Sign in with IU Login.
  6. Click Live TV > All Channels.
  7. Choose a program and click Watch.
Notes:
  • To watch, make sure you're connected either to eduroam or the IU network via Ethernet.
  • To see the channels available on your campus, see Channel Lineup.
  • When you're logged in, everything you see in "On Demand" is available to you for free.
  • The service includes a personal cloud Digital Video Recorder that can record up to 20 hours of content. You can also download recordings for later viewing when you aren't connected.

Recently released movies from ResLife Cinema

At IUB, IUPUI, IUSB, and IUS, you also have access to more recently released movies via ResLife Cinema, a service separate from Xfinity. Before you can watch movies for the first time on any device, you'll be prompted to download necessary software.

  • Mobile devices: Follow the prompt to download the Swank Media Player, and then return to reslifecinema.iu.edu.
  • Windows or macOS: Follow the prompt to install WidevineMedia Optimizer. You'll need to restart your browser for the plug-in to complete installing, and then return to reslifecinema.iu.edu.
Note:
ResLifeCinema is available only during the fall and spring semester of the academic year (August 1-May 31).
