Overview
Students in campus housing at IU Bloomington, IUPUI, and IU South Bend have access to over 120 channels of high definition content via internet streaming or mobile applications provided by XFINITY On Campus. Content includes major broadcast TV, as well as sports and entertainment networks, including HBO.
At IUB, IUPUI, IUSB, and IUS, students also have access to recently released movies via ResLife Cinema.
Streaming and mobile TV from XFINITY
To access streaming and mobile TV, follow the appropriate steps below.
On your computer
- Go to XFINITY On Campus.
- Under "Enter your school name", choose IU username and passphrase. . Log in with your
- Click either or .
On your device
- Download the XFINITY Stream app from either the App Store or Google Play.
- To log in, click .
On your TV
- Add the XFINITY Stream app to your Roku.
- Follow XFINITY's setup instructions at Activate the XFINITY Stream Beta App on Roku.
- When you get to the authentication screen, click next to "XFINITY On Campus Students:".
- To choose your school, begin to type
Indiana University
, and then clicking it; you may need to pressEnter
. - Log in with your IU username and passphrase.. You should then see a "Success" message on both your computer and your Roku. On the Welcome screen that appears, you may need to scroll down to accept the terms.

When you're logged in, everything you see in "On Demand" is available to you for free.
The service includes a personal cloud Digital Video Recorder that can record up to 20 hours of content. You can also download recordings for later viewing when you aren't connected.
Recently released movies from ResLife Cinema
At IUB, IUPUI, IUSB, and IUS, you also have access to more recently released movies via ResLife Cinema, a service separate from XFINITY. Before you can watch movies for the first time on any device, you'll be prompted to download necessary software.
- Mobile devices: Follow the prompt to download the Swank Media Player, and then return to reslifecinema.iu.edu.
- Windows or macOS: Follow the prompt to install WidevineMedia Optimizer. You'll need to restart your browser for the plug-in to complete installing, and then return to reslifecinema.iu.edu.

Traditional cable
If you prefer, you can watch traditional cable by connecting a coaxial cable from the wall outlet into the input on the back of your digital TV (be sure to bring your own cable). For more, see About traditional cable TV in campus housing at IU Bloomington.
