When I use SPSS on IUanyWare, how do I open a data set stored on my computer?

In SPSS on IUanyWare, to open a data set stored on your computer:

  1. From the File menu, select Open, and then choose Data.

In the "Open Data" dialog box, you will see that SPSS is looking in the My Documents folder. This is a virtual folder, not a folder on your computer.

  2. To find files on your local computer, in the dialog box, browse the directory structure under the Computer icon until you find an entry stating, for example, Local Disk (C on ...). Click the Local Disk entry to access the directories on your computer.

Note: If you want to open a data file that is not in SPSS format, you must change the "Files of type:" drop-down menu.
