Set up your Glean account at IU

Before you begin

This guide will walk you through the setup process for accessing your Glean account.

Before proceeding, make sure you received an email message notifying you that your Glean account was created. (You may need to check your Spam or Junk Email folder to find the notification.)

Accept the Glean invitation

1. To begin setup, check your email for a message from " Glean App" with the subject line "You're invited: get the Glean note-taking app".
2. In that message, select the Accept Invite link.
3. Follow the instructions below to sign in based on your planned usage and complete the setup of your Glean account.

Sign in based on your planned usage

Glean for the web only

1. On the setup page, make sure your name and IU email address are correct, and then select Sign in with Google.

2. On the Google sign-in page, enter your Google at IU username (your_username@iu.edu), and complete an IU Login.

3. When authentication completes, the web page will update to display "Almost there...". Click to check the License Agreement box, and then select Create Account.

Glean for the web and mobile app

1. On the setup page, make sure your name and IU email address are correct, and then select Continue.
2. When prompted to enter a password, create a password. This password is for use with the mobile app only. Do not use your IU passphrase.
3. Click to check the Service Agreement, and then select Create Account.

Complete the setup of your Glean account

To complete the setup of your Glean account, follow the instructions based on your web browser:

• In Chrome or Microsoft Edge:
  1. The web page will update to show a short video about getting started with Glean. You may watch the video or skip to the next step.
  2. Select Continue to finish account setup and access the Glean web app.
• In Firefox, Safari, or other browsers:
  1. You will see a screen with the message "You're all signed up!" and a warning telling you to switch to either Chrome or Microsoft Edge to use Glean.
  2. Launch Chrome and go to the Glean website. If you do not have Chrome installed, download and install Chrome, and then go to the Glean website.
  3. Select Sign in with Google.

  4. On the Google sign-in page, enter your Google at IU username (your_username@iu.edu), and complete an IU Login.

  5. The web page will update to show a short video about getting started with Glean. You may watch the video or skip to the next step.
  6. Select Continue to finish account setup and access the Glean web app.

After setup is complete, you will receive an email notification from " Glean App" with the subject "Welcome to Glean" that includes a link to the web page for using Glean.
