ARCHIVED: At IUB or IUPUI, if I don't have a Network ID, how do I use a kiosk to create my initial computing accounts?

If you have been admitted to or have registered for classes at Indiana University, you can generate your initial computing accounts from a kiosk in the 24-hour Student Technology Center (STC) in IT 131 at IUPUI or in the Information Commons (IC) at IU Bloomington; at IUB, the UITS walk-in Support Center staff in the IC can assist you in locating an available kiosk.

To create your accounts:

  1. On the main page, click the link to create your first accounts.
  2. You will see a series of screens explaining your responsibilities as a computer user at IU. Read each screen and click Continue to go to the next screen. At the end of the series, to agree to the computer use terms, type yes and click Continue.
  3. Enter your last name, date of birth, and full 10-digit University ID (UID) or employee ID.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to print out your account information, but you cannot do this from the kiosks.

This will establish a Network ID and create your initial computing accounts. If after creating your initial accounts you'd like to create more IU computing accounts, see Get additional IU computing accounts and Computing accounts at IU
